A tale of two direction idiots…

The absurdity of it is just so funny. We all know that I am a direction idiot. Well, turns out that ZX is not much better than yours truly. Though I need to take most of the blame coz I’ve been there like loads of times and I still can’t recognize the route. =_=

After wed’s training, I asked ZX to give me a lift to sinpang. But even after repeated instructions from sha, tiff, and the road directory, we still managed to get lost. =_= Even ended up somewhere in the bedok industrial park. Haha… even after repeated calls for help to tiff, sha and my mum, we still couldn’t find our way there. This is almost too embarrassing to blog about. The feelings of helplessness and frustrations of being lost is no joke! Especially when the location is so bloody near! And we can’t seem to find it! In the end, my dad said he’ll pick me up from the mrt station. =P All’s well that ends well I suppose. I managed to get to where I want to go while ZX need not continue turning circles in bedok. =P

However, this senpai of mine is the best lah! I got to remember to treat him something nice next payday. =)

On a separate note, I realized that I need to go for more training sessions. I really feel that the long inactivity is my undoing. ZX said that just going down for trainings is not really enough. To improve, one must think about the things taught and mistakes etc. I do agree with that but now, I need to get back into the groove of training first I think. I’ve been slacking way too long.

New resolution to self: Not to miss any Sunday and Wednesday trainings and try to go down for as many NUSKK trainings as possible.

Cowards

So… instead of starting my literature essay that is due in a few hours time, bummer that I am, I was reading blogs and came across the whole xx’s blog controversy. It seems that other than the controversial xx, many other famous blogs got hacked as well. A few years back, I never really understood what the xx craze was all about. But I think I might have mellowed with age. I actually find a lot of her posts very funny. =P

Personally, I find the behaviour of the hacker deplorable! It’s malicious and downright disgusting. But what pissed me off the most are the comments posted by hateful people about how they supported the hacker and how they think xx deserved it etc etc. I think this shows how low their character is. Riding behind someone’s wrongdoing and even encouraging it to show their petty malice is absolutely nauseating. It shows their lack of character and integrity. =_=

Cowards…

Dire warning...

haha... I saw this sign on the fence behind the basketball courts while on the way to the library. Just thought it's pretty funny. =P Thought I'll take a picture of it before I leave PL. Apparently, it was left behind by the previous school. =P

It's all coming to an end soon!!!

It's all coming to an end soon!! I can't wait to start lessons! School this week has been pretty sedate. I no longer have any classes to teach and my mentors have even given me back my evaluation forms. So I spent my time in the staff room reading harry potter and listening to my ipod. Haha… pretty much doing nothing… out of sheer boredom, I agreed to go along with my mentor to invigilate the girls while they’re having their history tests. Man… the whole process is a torture. As a rule, teachers invigilating cannot mark their stuff nor can they sit down to read or do their own work. So I had to walk around the class for the whole 45 minutes. Wah! Talk about being bored… it’s sheer hell! I almost fell asleep while leaning against the wall. >_<

This school experience stint is nearly over and I can say that I did learn a lot from my mentors. They were really really nice to me. In this aspect, I can say that I’m really lucky to have them. =)

Note to self: must remember to buy em stuff before I leave PL.
Argh… got to use the free time to write my Lit essay. Fucking waste of my time…. I’d much rather spend it stoning… =_=

happy...

Well, first thing first, thanks guys for your concern over my dad. He was discharged today. Though the doctors don’t really know the actual cause of his condition, I think it’s probably high blood pressure. This little episode made me realize just how much my dad matters to me and my family. I feel that it also made my mum and dad that much closer. Not that they were not close before… but now, my mum’s extra extra nice to my dad. Hahaha… we told dad to savour the moment because there’s not likely going to be a repeat once he fully recovers. =P

Just got my copy of harry potter today! I know its one day late… but I was so busy and worried the past few days. Now I can read in peace! Yay!

Argh…. Will we fail content upgrading? I have zero inspiration for the literature essay due this Friday. I haven’t even finish reading the play yet! T_T I hate content upgrading… it’s a fucking waste of my time! Given the choice between school and content up-grading, I’ll take school any day… even if I have to wear skirts. =_=

About training… I have been neglecting training for a long time… family matters took up most of my attention and I have to admit that I was lazy and unmotivated. Sigh… I’ve decided to set myself a date by which I’ll return to training. 24th of July will be that date!

=(

My dad was warded yesterday. He has been complaining of giddiness for the past few days but we thought it was just the lack of sleep. He seems ok at my commencement too. hmm… I don’t really know the details as yet and that is worrying me. The staff at Changi hospital is really not very helpful. They really should take some lessons from Munna Bhai. =_=

Okies! I’m off to the hospital! Really hope he’ll be able to come home soon.

Commencement!

T_T Missed out on the history group picture! Sad… but my mummy wanna leave and I can’t really keep the car waiting… sorry guys! T_T but I did get some pictures taken with the gang… though not every one of the shots turned out well. =_= But, I finally graduated!! Woohoo!~

After resting for a while, went out to meet with J, dot and jas for a movie! The Fantastic Four was delightfully shallow! My kind of movie! The movie was gleefully entertaining and the company was fantastic. We all had a good time picking on poor dot. =P We didn’t get home till 4plus almost 5. Thank goodness I don’t have school on Fridays! Hehe…

Okies! got to stop rambling here… going to meet ra at JP soon.

Wednesday, July 13, 2005

It's finally payday!!!

I went shopping with J just now and I spent nearly a thousand bucks! Just in the space of a few hours! Actually… it’s slightly above 1k. haha… I’m such a spendthrift. =P But I’m pretty please with my purchases… especially the “little” reward I bought for myself. Ho ho ho…

Stopped by an ATM to check out my balance as well as to withdraw some money to pay my mountain of debts… man… the balance is shockingly low. Perhaps I should stop this lifestyle. Or my pay won’t last till August 12th.

Well, on a side note, my evaluation went well. For the history side at least. Heh. That could be because my mentor is so nice.

ps: bon voyage zibs!!

Normality ensues

Well, I went to school on Thursday as per normal. Pretty good day I would say… got to relief some of my mentor’s classes. The secondary two girls were surprisingly cute -going ga-ga over Edison Chan, a liking for singing in class… they were really different from the class I’ve taught so far… they were more relaxed and so I was more at ease in class too. Overall, even though I didn’t do much, the two periods there were fun. =)

The company was good on Wednesday. The combination of a good friend and several cousins resulted in a night long chatting session punctuated with loud laughter and giggles… not very respectful for sure… but the jokes just won’t stop! But one of my uncles actually said that there should be laughter at the wake and not tears because my ah gong went peacefully and without worries. Yesterday, we had a prayer session. Man… it was over an hour long and we had to kneel and stand lots of times. =_= It was really tedious… but anything for ah gong I suppose… Hmmm… the wake was tiring… I never knew how tired it was to just man the wake. It’s tiring to sit and do nothing. Some of my kendo juniors (asstea, brown nut and gy) came to the wake after training. Thanks guys for coming over… =)

It'll take some getting use to...

My grandfather passed away this morning. It’s a weird kind of feeling that I have… sad yet not quite as acute as grief. It'll be weird not having him around. He's like a fixture in my family. I may not be especially close to him but his death will take some getting use to. Looking at his body at the wake, it's strange to see how different he was in death. His body looks so different from what I remembered him to be like. My cousin said that it was because of the make-up... but it's really much more than that. Though I really don't know how to describe it...

I left school early today. Thank goodness my v-p was very understanding. But since I'm really under NIE, I got to apply for leave from them instead of the school. UPA leave from NIE for Friday’s class is unavoidable. But I wonder if I can settle the leave issue with just a phone call. Sigh…

Though truth be told, the atmosphere at the wake is strangly "cheerful". Not the gloomy gloomy type (though in the afternoon it was that way), but rather noisy and to a certain extent, almost cheery. Well, maybe cheery is not the right word to use... but overall, the atmosphere was more positive than negative. I would like to console myself that it would be what he would have like it to be.

sad...

I was in town when my mum called me. My granddad is not doing well. In fact, my cousin went to get the picture for the funeral made just this afternoon. A series of strokes left him in a coma. Sad to say, I was not that close to my granddad. But looking at him lying on the bed, I can’t help but think of him just a few years back walking to work everyday wearing a cap. Most of all, I’m sad that I didn’t get to spend more time with him while he was still relatively healthy. I held his hand today. I haven’t held his hand since I was a kid. I have a feeling that it’ll be one of the last times I get to hold his hand.

Day 1

It’s the end of day one and frankly speaking, I didn’t really do all that much. Observed two periods of literature, read animal farm, read the history textbook and basically stoned for the majority of the day. The girls all seem nice and polite; the teachers as a whole are pretty friendly. But all PL lady teachers got to wear skirts. T_T That sort of threw me into a panic because I don’t own more than two of the said garment. =P

So it’s skirt shopping for me after school with J. Shucks… I really can’t stand those formal looking skirts… I look so auntie in them! Me and skirts just don’t go together… =( oh! Ra! You’ve passed your lip-balm/gloss disease over to me!! I find myself buying lip-gloss even though I have more than enough at home.

Argh… I hate the location of the school lah. I think I’ll have to take cab to school almost every morning if I’m going to be on time. It’s bloody out of the way! =_= Transport's gonna cost a bomb!~ I couldn't bring myself to buy a book I really wanted today because I was thinking of future cab fares. T_T Life is sad...

Work starts… life goes on…

The first week of NIE and content upgrading has been rather dreary. Man… the amount of steps we have to climb in campus… just thinking about it is enough to make me T_T

Thank goodness for the great company… as indicated in the pic below. But not forgetting denise, shuhui and pearl. Oh man... Content upgrading would be unthinkable without you guys! =)

Posted to PLMGS for the one month school experience. Ra and nat were rather disgruntled with their postings. The poor dears… =P Heh. But I don’t really feel anything much about mine. I know that it’s supposed to be a good school etc etc but there are other disadvantages present. Overall, I’m not really unhappy over this posting nor am I jumping for joy lah. PLMGS is in freaking Serangoon for goodness sake!

Seeing as nat has gotten an Ipod mini from her dad as a graduation present, and ra got herself an Ipod Photo, the green-eyed monster reared its head. I just had to buy something! Now I’m the proud owner of a red Olympus Mini! Hehe… partly sponsored by my dearest daddy. It’s sort of my graduation present. My dad’s the best! =)

Can’t wait for the 12th of July… then I’ll truly feel I’ve started work…

Shah Rukh Khan

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Isn't he just the loveliest thing? Well, he's not the most good looking fellow out there (since Johnny is the fairest of them all), nor is he the tallest. But he has got that charm. His facial expressions are priceless! I'm going to start on Veer-Zaara soon. Hope it'll be as good as Kal Ho Naa Ho. =)

=_=

I actually had a dream about the Hindi movies I’ve been watching. Nothing really vivid other than the expected dancing and singing… the dream must have been the result of the movies and the new book I bought on a whim. Aptly titled “Bindis & Brides”. Another one of those fluffy books that I love, though this one’s not really that good. Bought it because I couldn’t bear to leave kino yesterday without buying anything. =_=

Anyways, back to the dream, Bollywood scene fades out then I was in this shop. Met a little girl and we started talking. She was telling me about how she came to Singapore by boat from Yangzhou and how she wanted to take a boat to Hong Kong but had some problems. I ended helping her to ask the lady in the shop if there were tickets on the boat ride to Hong Kong. Turned out the boat is full up and she would have to wait till next week. She was rather disappointed but she thanked me and left. =_=

In the dream I totally didn’t think it was strange that the mode of travel was by boat instead of planes. What freaked me out was how I still remember her face and the conversation we had even now. Normally, I’ll forget details as soon as I wake up. I’ll only remember the vague feelings and emotions. J thought it might have been a visitation. And frankly speaking, I’m not feeling too great about it too. But we might just have been thinking too much. But, if it really was a visitation, I do hope that she managed to get to Hong Kong as she wanted.

Sad…

My internet is down. For reasons unknown to me. T_T

I’ve not felt so inconsolable since my baby laptop died on me. Alas! I don’t have anymore Hindi flicks to watch. Must remember to get more from ra tomorrow. So now I’m using my bro’s com to blog while listening to the soundtrack of Kal Ho Naa Ho in an attempt to make myself feel better. Woah! The songs are actually very very very good! Can you imagine pretty woman in hindi? Amazingly, it sounds good!~ But my favourite is still the main theme song “Kal Ho Naa Ho”. J thinks i've gone mad. =P

Quoted: "just two weeks ago, you were normal" Wahahahahaha.... maybe I've gone a little mad from boredom but Shah Rukh Khan is really something! So cute!

Went to check out the stuff at Shu Uemura with J today. Wah… their stuff is so nice, yet so expensive. Already made out a rudimentary shopping list. Can’t wait for 1st july! =)

ps: I've managed to convert my younger brother into the world of Hindi movies... he actually uploaded the soundtrack of Kal Ho Naa Ho into his ipod and asked me when is ra passing me more stuff. =_= He's my first successful convert. =P Tried to convert asstea by letting her listen to pretty woman in hindi. But alas, no luck thus far. hahaha...

Hindi flicks is an acquired taste...

I have officially watched 5 hindi movies!

1)Munna Bhai M.B.B.S
2)Main Hoon Na
3)Kal Ho Naa Ho
4)Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
5)Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham…

All five are fantastic! With the exception of Munna Bhai M.B.B.S, the rest of the movies have Shah Rukh Khan in em! He is such a good-looking chap! Fantastic dancer and actor! He made me laugh and he made me cry… literally buckets of tears! In fact, that’s what good scripts and actors should be able to do. The ability to manipulate the emotions of the audience is a must! =P or maybe I’m just a crybaby…

Hahaha… he even made the dancing scenes watch-able! The soundtrack of Kal Ho Naa Ho is actually very nice! Dearest ra sent the songs to me and I’m listening to em all day on my ipod mini! So nice!!!

Onward! NUSKK!!

Congrats to all who passed their grading today! I know some may be disappointed with their results, but hey! Everyone passed! And maybe this step by step advancement will make your eventual dan grade all the more valued! Every step is an experience! =)

Was especially happy when tan lei passed his shodan! He’s one of the first among all my juniors to pass! Yay! Here’s hoping NUSKK continue to progress in the future! =)

No longer a bum!

I finally went back for training after a damn long time! Though I felt sick in the first part of the training, it was really pretty fun. Today’s training reminded me of why I stuck in kendo for so long. =)

Oh! Not to forget the people I have not seen for such a long time! It was real good to see the SKC people, like xiao hui, xiao xiong, kuro-chan, tiff, chan sensei and even david sensei! I even got to see that old turtle ZX! Heh. Old turtle is not an insult but an affectionate *puke* nickname!~ (coz he called me the small turtle mah.). Thanks ZX aka old turtle for the drink after training(soya bean as well as the mysterious glucose =p)! And thanks er jie for the lift! The kangoo was damn cool! =)

Heh. One more fantastic thing that happened was that the set of VCDs I’ve been waiting for finally arrived! My faith in the basic goodness of mankind and yahoo auctions has finally been restored! Yay!

I'm a new convert...

Just watched Munna Bhai… man… I’m a new convert to the cult of hindi movies! It’s fucking hilarious! =_=

Ra, nat, you guys have ruined me for life! Hindi movies for god’s sake! *shakes head*

Made my younger brother watch it too! He’s laughing his head off now! Hilarious… I really can’t imagine a day when we watch hindi movies and like it. But it happened. =P

Oh… the simple things in life we take for granted.

Singapore never looked so lovely tonight. Man… you got to go without to appreciate the things you take for granted. Clean toilets for one. The toilets along the way to Genting were horrid to say the least. I still shudder when I think about their condition. *shudders* Even the hotel toilets was horrible, so were the ones in the shopping centers. Yucks to the power of 10!!! =_=

But the trip as a whole was all right. Except for the fact that the security guards at the casino kept checking my IC and it was pretty embarrassing to hold up the people behind while I fished for my IC. And I found a no-smoking area within one of the casino… Happiness!! I nearly died of smoke inhalation in the normal areas of the casino. =_=

My aunt just shopped and shopped while my mum cosseted herself in the casino. We only got to see her during meal times. Haha… I can’t keep up with either of them. My mum apparently don’t need to rest while my aunt’s a one woman shopping machine. So I just sat at starbucks and stone…

Met an old neighbour on our second day there. She’s there with her son and his daughters. Her elder granddaughter is only ten and she’s already 1.7m!! I can’t fucking believe it man! I last saw the girl during Chinese New Year and she was still shorter than me! How can anyone grow more than 20 cm in a few months time?? And she’s only ten for goodness sake! Trauma! I can’t accustom myself to looking UP at her. *trauma*

Took the afternoon bus back to Singapore. Uneventful… thank goodness for my mini i-pod!

Feelin’ pretty fine!

Today is payday! Woohoo!~ that’s the main reason lah! Hahaha… but seriously… even though I nearly died of high blood pressure teaching those P2 kids, I find them strangely endearing at the end of the lesson. Was having dinner with J just yesterday and strangely enough, when I told J all the exasperating stories of the kids, I found myself torn between laughter and annoyance. I’m sure I was a super fierce teacher, shouting at them all the time. But surprisingly, they were very clingy. P2 kids are so simple. Still, children shouldn’t grow up too fast. =_=

Our dear Ra treated us, as in me and nat, to sakae sushi for lunch today! Hehe… come on sista… what’s $30 in the sea of 6k? hahahaha…. After that, we went back to school to let the lady at the co-op measure us for the gown and the cap. As we were walking out of the co-op, I was complaining to ra about having to wear L for the mortar cap… “Do I really have such a big head?” To my surprise, I heard a “yes” behind me and turned back to see CG!! Oh man! I haven seen him for such a long time! haha… but come think of it, I haven seen much of my classmates for a long time too. Been too much of a recluse. =P

After NUS, we went to Little India for threading and ra and nat introduced me to the world of Hindi movies. The world of song and dance and of going round the coconut trees. =P But I’m always open to more movies lah. Heh. Then we just sat at BK and laughed, talked and gossiped for hours! It was fun!

There’s one thing that bothered me though. T_T One set of VCDs I bought over yahoo auction didn’t arrive. I think it got lost in the mail. And sadly, I’ve been waiting forever to see that series. T_T so sad…

Stupid Saizou...

Argh… I’d forgotten the birthday of one of my dearest friends. Damn it! How could I have forgotten?? Just a week ago I was thinking to myself that it’s approaching and I’ll at the very least call or sms. It’s now 30th May and I’m two days late. Damn it!

I really need some ginko nuts...

some stuff inspired by Jenn...

I was reading Jenn’s blog and her post about Japanese lessons in NUS, and it triggered memories of my own. I got the same teacher as you Jenn! I got Xia Qian… but I wasn’t really happy with her lah. Three different tutorials, three different tutors. Frankly speaking, only the TA tutor was a good teacher. TB tutor was xia qian and I can’t quite remember the name of the TC tutor except that he’s a Taiwanese guy. Reason being I don’t really go for TC tutorials. Haha… I think I only went for 3-4 TC lessons the whole semester. Japanese lessons as a whole didn't really register in my brain. It was a series of lectures I didn't go for and tests I'd forgotten to study for. Not to mention homework that I didn't do. =_= Of course I did some of it... I'm not really that suicidal in my second semester. That came later in my NUS life. =_=

Surprisingly, TB lessons were the ones I enjoyed the most. I guess it’s because of the crazy tutorial mates I met there. There were two from the Taekwondo Club, the then vice-captain and another girl. And I'm the "crazy girl" from Kendo (according to him lah. That idiot. =P). We got along famously. Maybe it’s because we’re all from martial arts clubs and we could grouse about the useless sports club together. In any case, I’d forgotten his name now, and I’ll bet that he had forgotten mine coz we usually call each other “xiao eh!” meaning crazy. I still see them the year following the Japanese lessons on some of the training days. Haha…the reason I remembered them is coz I’ll usually be paired up with the crazy guy for Japanese conversation. =_= which meant that I’ll have to endure his crazy and inventive, not to mention loud interpretation of what the conversation is supposed to sound like.

Another classmate I remembered was this tall guy. It was kinda awkward because I had chided him prior to the start of the first class for smoking in AS3. Imagine my shock when he walked in and sat next to me when class commenced. Haha… but we got over that little bit of unpleasantness soon enough. He's the only guy I know that has a bike that cost cheaper than his helmet! Haha... incredulous as it sounds, it's all true! But I can't really remember his name now. =P

Charles told me that I’ll regret it if I don’t drop the module. He took the same module the previous semester. But I was stubborn and well, I paid the price for my stupidity I guess. All in all, it was an eventful class, though the grade I got for this module pulled down my CAP. Damn it! =P I wish I’ll be able to see my tutorial mates again someday… but I don’t much relish being called “xiao eh” in the middle of the street. =_=

Oh... the things I do for money...

Today’s class totally drained me. Now I understand how nat felt last week. Argh… the kids acted like little gangsters and they’re still so tiny! I can sweep them aside with one flick of my arm. And they still want to act tough. It’s so laughable that it’s no longer funny. And so, I decided to relax for a while after the lesson instead of rushing home to go for training. Paisay ah estee… I promised that I’ll go and I didn’t in the end. Gomenasai! >_<

New assignment starts on Monday. Argh… I’m so not looking forward to it. I have to do all nine of the activities with the kids. Unlike Nat, that lucky gal… only has to do the same three activities on all three days. There’s one that’s more distasteful than the rest. It involves measuring the legs of little frogs. =_= I sure hope the kids don’t kill em man. Little kids can be so rough sometimes.

Still, the money will be good. I just hope I don’t die of high blood pressure at the end of the three days. There’s a reason why I don’t want to teach in a primary school. Little kids freak me out. =_= I don’t know how to handle them. One moment they’re cute as hell, the next I want to throttle them. I wonder how on earth I'm going to survive the three days. Still, I think I'm going to be a happy gal come Wednesday! =P

One Year Old!!

*throws confetti into the air*

Today’s the 1st anniversary of my blog! I can’t believe one year has gone by so quickly. The main motive for the setting up of this blog was to get gmail invites, back in the time when no one had gmail and gmail invites were hard to come by. Haha…Of how in the beginning, only J knew I had this blog, then it spread to the kendo peeps, then to my honours classmates. I never intended to keep the blog for long. But somehow, it became a habit to rant and rave in it. =_= Here’s a happy birthday to me blog and hope that there’ll be many more ahead! =)

老了就是这样

I wanted to go for the Kata session on Saturday. Honest! But I only remembered it on Sunday. One of my juniors said this to me over msn... "老了就是这样"

Hurt me deep deep. T_T

I just need more ginko nuts... but I'm young at heart!

Heh. Speaking of ginko nuts... that sort of reminded me of something J said. Think it was from some book J read.
"Everyone should take their daily dose of ginko and viagra. So they can remember what the fuck they're doing."

=p

On a happier note…

Well… coz I was so upset over the manga…I went to watch some anime… Eyeshield 21 is about American Football… *pui* such a primitive game… but the anime is funny!!

Hee hee… Hiruma is a hell of a character! YA-HA!!

T_T

Went a little crazy during the Kino sale and bought the whole set of the manga (even though it’s in English) and prof F’s new book. Spent too much… as usual. T_T

But I was not the craziest. Para spent nearly 400 bucks… just on mangas… my eyes went @_@ when I saw the amount on the cash register. I guess people get to spent more when they’ll working, and she saved a lot because of the 20% discount. She introduced me to the textbook counter in popular! I didn’t know they sell book covers of every size there….they even measure your books for you. Wah… revelation! Heh. I learn something new everyday.

I feel like bawling my eyes out now!!!! Just finished reading The Demon Ororon vol 4. It just gave me the “what the hell!??” kinda feeling! How could he have died? And nothing’s been resolved! But the last few pages were beautiful… beautifully sad. T_T

I’m shaking with frustration now… I just hate it when mangas or books don’t end the way I want them to.

Wahahaha... Kitty finally wore the tee we got for him a few years back. FINALLY!! Heh. Met up with him on Wednesday at Singapore Post and we saw the "love" of his life in macs. Hehe... he was so shakened by the sight that he refused to come out of LJS for quite a while. I think his knees were weak with LOVE! I told him I'll blog bout it. Sigh... coz of the BT, my mood's gone... so it shall be a short post.
Posted by Hello

T_T

The cycle of hate continues… my BT is still not done!!! 97% and 0kib/s….it’s utterly frustrating I tell you. J said that I should chart the number of times I complaint bout BT on my blog, and that faith and willpower will make the download go faster… but I guess it’s useless… nothing’s going to make my speed any faster. I’m just staring at the download now… @_@

It’s not moving…T_T

SR understands my pain... he's going through it now. =_= But knowing misery is shared doesn't make it easier... I’m such an idiot! Told J no need to burn Gokusen for me coz my download will finish by the time I’m home. I’m such a goondu! I could be watching it right now instead of watching the download not move… =_=

Met Hen, Ra and Nat for lunch today in town… As usual, I was the first one there. Hen was late for ½ hour while the girls were late for a whole hour!!! =_= Hen came up with some fantastical story bout a bomb on the bus, and that’s why the bus can’t travel above 50km/h. After that he was held up when he helped a pregnant woman give birth. His story got even more absurd when he tried to explain for Ra and Nat by saying that German terrorists entered the bank that they were in and held them hostage… WTH! Hahaha… he’s full of crap man… didn’t really do much except ate, talked and laughed.

The buffet at Merchant Courts was not THAT fantastic… but their desserts were good!!! The durian was especially good. I think J had about 5 or more scopes of durian… pure durian, not ice-cream. Haha… but I guess for the same price, Crystal Jade Palace’s food is better, though it’s not a buffet.

After dinner we went for a beer at one of the micro brewery nearby while SR showed us the pictures he took in Canada. Got to sample lots of different types of beer… but they all taste the same to me. All not nice. =_= *Pui* Well… maybe except for the first one. Golden Ale or something to that effect.

Tried on the fisherman’s trousers Ra got for me in Bangkok… realised that I don’t know how to wear… Ra… help… T_T

Feelin' Good!

Training today was good... Damn tiring but satisfying... tiff tried to tempt me into ditching training for a movie! But I resisted temptation! So proud of meself! *grinz*

T_T

My BT for gokusen special is still at 28%.... BT hates me... it’s a vicious cycle of hate…

=_=

My eyes are like this now…I’ve slept less than two and a half hours and the prospect of more sleep is not very good right now because I want to watch the stuff I got from J last night. So many things to watch… ahhh… decisions decisions…

The reason for the sleep deficit’s coz of the signing of contract at MOE this morning… I had to take a cab back from the “wasteland” back home at 7plus FREAKING am!! And we had to wait so long to sign the bloody thing… met Chris and Shuhuei there as well. They came earlier and also had to wait for a damn long time…

Think I’ll look through the NIE package for a while before I watch all my anime/J-Drama! =)

One Piece… Gakuen Alice… Naruto… Trinity Blood… Yakitate Japan… Lunch no Oujou…

Ahhhhhhhh… it feels real good to be done with school!

The desire to share…. Or the lack there of…

Went out with J today. As usual, we were our gleefully greedy selves. Ordered too much food, so much so that we can’t finish our stuff... (what else is new right? =_=) The left-over amount of waffles on both our plates would have made up a complete one. Oh if only we learnt how to share… we would have saved ourselves much money and the agony of trying to finish the excess food. =P

Lesson of the day: learn to share food. =P

On a happier note, tomorrow is payday!! I’m finally seeing something for the times spent at CP. Feeling good! Woohoo!~

Yosh!!

After Monday’s and Wednesday’s trainings, my old bones are aching… but I guess I got to get pass this stage if I want to get back my stamina. T_T But it was good. I missed trainings and I missed the people there. Well, some of them at least!

Well, on a happier note, I met er jie and he passed me the stuff they helped me buy in Japan! Woohoo!~ I totally love my new shinai!! The grip is so much shorter than my current one… that means I can grip it better with my short arms. =_= and its super light!! Again as compared to my current one which is heavier than a guy’s shinai. =_= Thanx a lot to dear monkey for helping me get the shinai! =) I think I’ll trouble you more in future! Wahahahahaha…

And so, I was oohing and ahhing over my shinai the whole night last night and my mum thought I was weird. She said girls my age will obsess over boys or clothes or anything feminine, but I’m fixated over 4 pieces of bamboo tied together… well, putting it in that way it does sound kinda weird. But I do obsess over other stuff mah... like Daniel Wu and Johnny Depp. =P

He's the perfect man...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Just went to watch the movie "Divergence". What a rubbish movie. Good acting by some of the actors but Aaron Kwok's character seems somewhat overkill... the redeeming feature of this film would have to be Daniel Wu. His rating is way up there in my list of guys to shag with Johnny Depp and well.... Johnny Depp. =P He's just so cute!

Restless

Everything’s over but I’m not as ecstatic as I thought I would be. I’m feeling rather restless actually. The feeling that I want to do something yet I don’t know what to do.

Argh....

Think I’ll go spend some money, or maybe I should clean up my room.

Onwards to the next stage!!!

We were the best of pals back then. But we haven’t kept in touch for ages. My fault I would say. Now, reading her blog, it made me feel sort of sad and melancholy. We’re like living in different worlds. We could almost pass off as strangers. And yet, my life wouldn’t have been the same had I not met her in JC. Haha... perhaps my grades might have been significantly better. =P

Then again, maybe not. =P

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that I feel as though I’ve remained stagnant while she moves on with life. I feel as though I’ve been left behind. And yet, I can’t say that life remained totally stagnant for me. There are things and people that are very important to me in the past few years, experiences that I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. I don’t want her life but I’m definitely ready to move on with my own.

Of tonkatsu and mangas...

Was actually planning to blog about the best tonkatsu place I've ever eaten at but after I read the manga I bought, the focus shifted. =P But the tonkatsu place still deserves a mention. Well, the place's called Tonkichi. The picture's of the Ngee Ann City branch but we actually went to the one at Isetan-Scotts. Both J and I agreed that here's a place where the food they serve actually looks like the food on the menu and in the model placed outside the store. Price's reasonable for the quality of food served. =)

Posted by Hello

Today I spent 20 over buckaroos on a single volume of manga. Now normally I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a single bloody book ya. But this one's special! Oh man! I'm actually raving bout it! It's been ages since I raved over any manga (Naruto and One Piece excluded).

Ok, I know the title sounds cliché but it's surprisingly good. Though I do have high expectations after J told me it's good. =) Was not in the least disappointed. It's one of the least explicit of mangas in the yaoi genre. Storyline was strong enough and artwork was good. A minimal of melodrama so typical in yaoi mangas. Needless to say, I just absolutely love it! *goes into fan girl mode* =P

Sense of community...

Perhaps because the semester is coming to an end and I know that I’ll get distracted after exams. I think I should blog it all down before my attention is moved to other matters. For the first time in my 4 years in NUS, there’s this sense of community. I feel as though I belong to a class of my own. For the first three years in NUS, I feel that my life revolved around NUSKK (and friends of course. =_=) I take little or no notice of the lessons I went to or the people in my class (Prof M and his lessons excluded of course =P).

As for the honors class, its just like any other normal classes, you won’t be close to everybody, there’ll always be people you don't really like, and there’ll be people whom you are close to. But it all boils down to the fact that all of us are part of a class. The honors room really helps to foster a sense of belonging. I’m not always there but the times spent there either eating or attempting to study or basically just crapping/gossiping or watching the guys play chess or mahjong are all enjoyable times. When I think back on my NUS days, I’ll surely remember the noisy and smelly (only a little lah) honors room.

I just can't wait!!!

I just can’t wait for tomorrow’s paper to be over!! 1 question in 2 hours... I bet I’ll finish in half the time because I don’t really have a lot of information in my brain now. It’s killed by endless hours of crapping and gossiping in the honors room today. Hehe... but I’m sure I’ll be able to churn out something for tomorrow.

ZX called about some tickets for sale for “Ghost in the Shell” on Saturday but I can’t go... coz I still have exams. T_T

We started talking about training and I realized that I’m so going to die when I go back for training. Prolonged period of inactivity is so going to retard my performance. ZX even said he want to keiko with me when I go back for training. I’m so gonna die... Even without the long absence in training, I get trashed by him every single time. I shudder to think of the outcome when I next go back for training. And yet, in spite of the fear, there’s this weird sense of anticipation.

Ahhhhhhh... I can’t wait for exams to be over

Feelin’ Sick

Started the day with a headache… seems that I’ll end the day with one too. There’s this crazy moth in my room and it absolutely refuses to fly out. =_= Toby went crazy trying to catch it.

The room’s in a mess because of a crazy moth and a crazy dog. =_=

Virus...I HATE thee...

I so want to kill its fucking inventor... If I ever meet the person who invented this virus, I want to crack every single finger on his/her hands... so he/she cannot touch a keyboard ever again... I want to break their necks! A chill ran down my spine as I typed that. Haha... I guess my violent tendencies have not receded fully.

My msn was infected today by this weird virus. Of course I have to admit that I was being stupid. Sigh... I really don’t know what was the matter with me. First the stupid debit card issue then now this stupid virus. Why was I so baka? I’m really not thinking clearly these days. =_=

Thanx eddie for attempting to help me with the problem this afternoon. =)

Hopefully the system restore will work!!

Thanx chris for suggesting this. =)

Anger-management...

I think I have this innate rage inside me. It’s being tampered by a lot of factors. But it boils to the surface every once in a while and I don’t really know how to handle it. When I’m irritated, every single small thing will irritate the hell out of me. It’s a vicious cycle.

I need to go back for training... it balances me.

MRT incidents

Well, I’m sure lots of us have had incidents on MRTs. Encountered weird, rude, even obnoxious people. It’s public transport after all… we’ll get to meet all sorts of people. Well, I’ve met people who pretended to sleep so that they don’t have to give up their seats, some looked anywhere else but at the old fellow, some looked damned uncomfortable yet refused to stand up. I’ve also met people who blatantly refused to give up their seats (well, at least they’re honest bout it).

Today was the best! I was standing, this middle-aged woman was to my right and an old man was also standing to my left. We were the only three people standing in that particular cabin. The people sitting were mostly young people, teens to people in early twenties. You get the drift. One person stood up and alighted at the next stop. The empty seat was right in front of me. Being the nice person I am (haha) I did not sit down. Just as the old man was making his way towards the seat, the woman made a dash for it and sat down. Can you imagine the cheek of it! And then, proceeded to take out a book which turned out to be a bible and read through it. =_= oooohhh... how pious.

Needless to say, I was extremely disgusted. =_=

Short People

Ra sent me this song... It’s a blatant attack against short people... haha... but it’s a damn nice song lah!
Got the lyrics from here

Short People by Randy Newman

Short People got no reason
Short People got no reason
Short People got no reason
To live

They got little hands
Little eyes
They walk around
Tellin' great big lies
They got little noses
And tiny little teeth
They wear platform shoes
On their nasty little feet

Well, I don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
`Round here

Short People are just the same
As you and I
(A Fool Such As I)
All men are brothers
Until the day they die
(It's A Wonderful World)

Short People got nobody
Short People got nobody
Short People got nobody
To love

They got little baby legs
That stand so low
You got to pick 'em up
Just to say hello
They got little cars
That go beep, beep, beep
They got little voices
Goin' peep, peep, peep
They got grubby little fingers
And dirty little minds
They're gonna get you every time
Well, I don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
'Round here

and then its done!

The essay's done! I'm going to school soon to hand it up. Thanks be to the powers beyond and to ermita and celine. haha... without whose help, the essay would never have seen the light of day. But its still crap lah! =_=

And thanx to J for the cheering and the @_@ pictures sent that woke me up from lala land... thus made me go on to finish the stupid piece of crap... *snigger*

yosh! off to school to hand in stuff and get dvd from ra now! ra is the best lah!

Edit: today's my er jie's birthday!! happy happy birthday er jie!! buy me lots of stuff when u go japan next week k! i can't wait! my new shinai's coming back with u ya! *drool*

Taking a break…

J suggested that I take a break from lockie’s essay. Have bout 500 or so words and brain refuses to work anymore. Reading through what I just wrote, I’m not sure of its viability. I mean… even I don’t buy what I wrote… how can lockie buy it?

So what am I doing now? I’m playing solitaire on the computer…T_T
Honestly, I can’t think of anything less loser-ish than this. But what to do… thinking too much hurts my brain… T_T

DON'T MESS WITH THE PIG!
Posted by Hello

Haha...it's my wallpaper now. Thanks J, for sending the link over. It's really really adorable!

The end is near…

Finished my last presentation, went for my last class. There’s only one more essay left to do before I’m done. Exams excluded of course. =_= It seems that the end is approaching, soon I’ll cease to be a full-time student. (yes, NIE is another academic factory but I’ll be getting paid there... so it doesn’t count. =P)

After being part of the system for 18 years, inclusive of kindergarten, I fear I’m very much a product of the system. And that scares me because I do not want to be stuck in schools for the next 20 years to come without trying something else first. But I guess it all boils down to my own decision. Teaching is something I really want to try out. If it doesn’t suit me, *shrugs* then I’ll just have to start afresh 4 years into the future.

Mood was not the greatest after getting back DDR’s paper. =_=

A good dinner with good company never fails to put me back in a good mood. J my dear, thanx for the company! Was sitting on the floor at the taka sq eating ice-cream with J just now when I realized that it’ll be hard doing the same thing in the future. =_= But hack it, I'll probably be doing the exact same stuff I'm doing at the present. =P

Watching this anime called “Monster” now when I should be doing my SEA essay. It’s about a young boy who’s apparently a psychotic killer. It’s freaking me out. T_T I don’t know why I do this to myself. T_T

Of impulse buys and weird kitty...

I don’t know how many times I told myself “never again”, but I never seem to follow my own advice. T_T Impulse buys seems to be very much a part of my life. Just bought 50 bucks worth of Korean drama that is DUBBED! Words alone cannot express my hatred to dubbed stuff…and yet I still bought it. Ahhhhhhhh…..my 50 bucks!!!! I’m so going to live on bread and water for the rest of the week. =_=

I must let J watch this too….absolutely refuse to suffer alone. T_T buddies must share everything… even the excruciating pain of watching Korean actors speak Chinese with a Beijing accent! =_=

Oh….I really must blog about the latest weirdness of the kitty kat. He wants to be a kept man! Hahaha...

Grumpy

Think I’m losing hair... must be due to stress... T_T How?!!! I don’t want to visit Yun Nam with slart and hen! =_= blew the whole morning and afternoon watching or rather fast-forwarding through this ridiculous Korean drama called Memories in Bali where in the end, 3 out of the 4 main leads died. =_= I so wanted to throw the vcds away when I saw the ending! Then I remembered that the vcds are my cuz’s, not mine. *pissed* Freaking waste of my time!!!

Spent the rest of the afternoon looking for pictures of the Japanese Occupation. I swear my eyes are like this @_@ now. Found some good stuff but I just can’t seem to find any good pictures of the Japanese, especially the Kempeitais. T_T It’s 1 plus in the morning and I’m still searching... it’s not as though I don’t have the pictures, but scanning will be such a hassle! =_=

Have to miss training again tomorrow because of the stupid presentation. =_= It’s the last presentation of my NUS life. I do want to put in more effort. But I want to go training... I’m afraid that I’ll spend away the $60 meant for SKC membership fees if I don’t pay tiff soon.

As usual, BT hates me and I'll have to wait 160 hours before my download completes. =_=

Stage Beauty

Stage Beauty
Posted by
Hello

Went out with dot yesterday night... and dot sent me home in a lorry! Haha... pretty cool though. Dot’s skilled man. Can drive any vehicles. Hahaha…evening was marred when dot revealed that one of the rabbits have scabies. Oh god... I nearly freaked out! J was freaked out too... when I told her bout it. Poor J... was in super close contact with the jacket of the super-infector! Hohoho... come to think bout it... I was holding the jacket for quite a long while on Thursday as well. =_=

Anyways, we went to watch Stage Beauty. It’s a damn funny show! The emotions were pretty intense as well. Billy Crudup was beautiful. The scene that really got me was when King Charles II wanted Kynaston to act the part of Othello on stage, wanting him to show that he could act as a “he” as well as he could act as a “she”. Man... it wrenches my heart to see him sobbing on stage because he couldn’t do it despite repeated attempts. T_T His range of facial expression is amazing... especially compared to Keanu Reaves ! =P But the show was astonishing... I so want to watch it again... on second thoughts, I think I’ll get the DVD. =)

On a happier note, my group managed to finish our MNO project today! Though I think half the things we said about Yamashita is dubious at the least, it’s done! Now we’ll just have to see if the poor TA marking our projects would fall for it or not. =P

Parcels thru the mail!

I got a parcel from N0g0al nee-chan today. A lot a lot of candies, chocolates and a UCLA t-shirt that now smells of the candies he packed it with. =) Heh. I’m not really sure why he sent the parcel. The postage must have cost him. =(

But I’m pretty happy. Getting parcels thru the mail is truly a wonderful feeling... I don’t get them very often but when I do, I’m really happy. Thanks ng-neechan! *hugz*

MOE Briefing

Went for the briefing at MOE today. Even though J warned me bout being late, I was still one of the stragglers... coming in at 135 out of 150 in total. Woah…the wait was horrendous. I forgot to bring anything to read. Hungry and bored... the worst combination... T_T lucky I have celine, val and gang to keep me company. =)

Heh. It seems that everyone and their mothers are going to teach. Met Terr para para toh there. Haha... it has been ages since I last seen that bugger. =P I knew he was bonded! But I just didn’t expect it to be with MOE. Even charles is going to teach! Shocku! Correction: I think Charles is already teaching at a school, teaching PE and English. *Double Shocku*

But I think they’ll gonna be very popular with the girls. =_= well maybe charles will be popular with the guys lah. But terr definitely will be popular among the girls. Sigh... hard to believe it’s been 4 years since I knew these guys. Terr even said he still has the video we shot for the stupid JS project in our first semester. Projects were fun back then. T_T

=_=

I have this horrible headache… and a stiff neck. I think it’s stress-related. Why do I always do this to myself? =_=

Life should be simple.

my eyes are like this...=_=

It’s bout 4 plus am in the morning and I’m still sitting in front of the computer, willing my downloads to go faster. T_T Just got back 1 hour ago… went to watch Swing Girls with the AK people, then we just sat and ate and talk and laugh from after the movie till 3plus. Vape and Para gave me a belated birthday treat at Tao’s today. Was totally not expecting it, but thanks guys!

Swing Girls is a really hilarious movie! The guy who directed “Waterboys” is also the director for “Swing Girls” I highly recommend it! It’s about a group of girls (and a boy) who wanted to form a jazz band. Big band jazz to be precise. The music’s real cool and the movie really has its moments. Ra says she rates movies by their prices…haha….using the same scale in my opinion, $8.50 is the price for the movie! Even if you watched it on a weekend, you won’t regret it. But I shouldn’t hyped it up too much! I guess why we enjoyed the show so much was coz a group of people in high school uniforms suddenly went up to the front of the cinema to dance when the “Swing Girls” was performing. It was so funny, they just stood up and went up to the front to dance. One couple even went to the back of the cinema coz there were no more space in front. Heh. At first we thought they were spontaneous Japanese high school kids out on a lark. But they turned out to be Cos-players. Haha…but still, the atmosphere in the cinema was great!

Oh, one more thing…

My mood’s not the greatest this past week and I’m not feeling very good recently also. Please pardon my mood swings. I know I shouldn’t take it out on you, but sometimes I just can’t help it. If I appeared surly or snapped at you or suddenly just clammed up without reason, then I’m really sorry. If there’s a reason behind it, then perhaps you should reflect upon it. =_= Perhaps I really should take a step back and look at matters from a larger perspective. It’ll really clear up my mind and perhaps my mood will take a turn for the better! =)

my new bookshelf!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Dot built me a bookshelf. Not bad for a first timer ya. I remember my eyes went @_@ when she told me she bought the wood to build a bookshelf for me. =P Well...I wasn't really expecting alot... haha...but this really exceeds my expectations. I'm honestly touched though I DON'T view the transportation and cleaning process with anticipation. =_=

Hmmm... I don't think it's gonna fit all my books and mangas... perhaps it's time to clear up my room a little. =P

Friends?

Sometimes I really wonder why people became friends. Is it because of common interests? Or are we attracted to certain qualities in others? At some point in time, you’ll get to notice the other person’s flaws and idiosyncrasies. There’s sure to be disagreements. What happens then? Perhaps it’s how you deal with all these that determine whether a friendship deepens or wither away. When is the transitional point when strangers became acquaintances and then to friends? When is the point when you look at someone and say, he/she is your friend, instead of your classmate or schoolmate? I’m still not very sure on that point. That’s why I guess I’m a little leery about people I’ve not known for a long time. There are exceptions of course. I may look like it. but I’m just not really a people’s person I guess.

Fucking BT

I spent the whole fucking day trying to download H2 episode 3 via BT. The WHOLE FUCKING DAY!!! Right now what is the percentage at? A freaking 91%! It’s had been 91% since 5 in the afternoon and now it’s almost 10.30pm already. T_T Sandrock is right. It’s a vicious cycle. BT hates me and I hate BT. It’s a never-ending cycle of hate. =_= I think I can forget about wanting to watch the episode by tonight. Fuck it!

Oh, bout what I said in the earlier post about skinning the perpetuators if it was my younger brother whom they tortured and killed, I take that back. That little bugger can fight his own battles from now on. The two fucking torrents he’s running are part of the reason my stupid H2 BT is at 0kb/s now. I so want to SMACK him! That idiot!

Oooh…it’s at 92% now! At this rate, I’ll be able to watch my episode sometime before noon tomorrow…now why can’t I feel happy about it? Grrrrrrr……

Grrrr......

Was out with J today and we started talking bout various issues. Euthanasia, child molesters, child murderers, serial murderers integrating back into society etc. The moral dilemmas that come up in some of these cases. J mentioned that in the states, people who committed sex crimes against kids will actually be identified by the government even after they served their sentence, so called paid their dues to society. There’ll be a huge sign outside their houses stating, “a child molester lives here”, pamphlets will be given out to neighbors citing his identity and his crimes etc. On first thought, that does sound rather horrid doesn’t it? Since that guy had already paid his dues to society, he had served his punishment. Don’t he deserve a chance to start afresh? Yeah…these were my views in the beginning too. But if that person preyed on your kids, I’m pretty sure your thinking will take a 180 degree turn. It’s always difficult when matters turn personal. Some of these ex-convicts, they just can’t help themselves. What attracted them to children in the first place? Some kind of sick urging? Would prison cure that? I’m not so sure myself… would you want to expose your kids or younger siblings to such a character?

There’s this new movie coming out soon called “The Woodsman”, starring Kevin Bacon. It’s about a pedophile who returns to his hometown after 12 years in prison and attempts to start a new life. I think this movie’s going to be interesting to say the least. Kevin Bacon’s one of my all-time favorites too. =P

Besides the cases of the pedophiles, there’s the child murderers to consider. Can we condone them their crimes merely because they are kids? What a worthless excuse! The case of Mary Bell came up. She tortured and killed 2 young boys, I think aged 3 and 4 respectively when she was 10. Is this scary or what? In 2003, the courts granted her lifelong anonymity. Is this fucked up or what? Apparently, the courts wanted to protect the killer and her teenage daughter from vigilantes. I say let them have at her. What’s worse is that she sold her story for money!!!! Can you all believe that? I can’t take that she snuffed out two young lives just for fun and now she’s living a good life with her daughter with the money she made from selling her story bout how and why she killed those boys... or rather toddlers.

“Brian was found covered with grass and purple weeds. He had been strangled.
Nearby, a pair of broken scissors lay in the grass. There were puncture marks on
his thighs, and his genitals had been partially skinned. Clumps of his hair were
cut away.”

Isn't it disgusting? She doesn't even know the kid... he's just a kid from one of the houses in the neighbourhood. WTF!

It’s the same with the case of the 2 bastards who tortured and killed the small boy at some railway track some years ago. James Bulger I believe his name was. Cute kid who died because of some vicious punkasses… The courts granted them anonymity too. Spent millions of dollars in fact trying to hide their identity and creating new identities for them each time the press found them out. Grrrrrrrr…..those kids are pure evil. They ought to have been snuffed out! =_= man…some of the things I read about the case still gives me the shivers! And I’m filled with this rage, this unquenchable rage that made me understand why the vigilantes do the things they do. I shudder to imagine if it was my brother who was taken out, tortured and murdered just for the fun of it. Hell! I’ll skin the bastards who did it!

I’ll have to admit that I’m a very judgmental person. Don’t give me all that crap about forgiveness cause I don’t buy it. I believe you are fundamentally responsible for your actions. I believe you should PAY for what you do. No ifs, no buts, no excuses, no fucking bullshit bout how she’s only a child!

^_^

Discovered a new place today! It’s at far east plaza 5th floor. A quaint little place called Wasabi Tei. Recommended to us by the Sunny people. Haha… I guess they know all the good places within far east. It’s their territory after all. Anyways, back to Wasabi Tei, it’s pretty authentic in my opinion. The ambience, the environment, even completed by the stereotypical temperamental Japanese chef! Though I think he’s Chinese…hmmm…he looks Japanese though. =P

The food’s nice and the price is cheap as well. My only grouse with the place is that it’s really too small…..and the hygiene level is not all that high. =P Oh! One more thing! I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that they don’t have the 5% GST, 10% service charge that most places had. =) That’s in their favour!

Went shopping with J after dinner…it was a good trip!~ hehe….spent over a hundred bucks though. But it was money well spent! =)

Perhaps I’m really an impulse buyer. Thoroughly a victim of the “I want it and I want it now!” syndrome.

The waiting's over...

I got the offer from MOE. But the problem is, I’m not sure if I’ll be going to NIE straight or teaching at a school first. Aiyah… but the pay is good leh. And I can start planning for my year end trip abroad. =P

Yay!

Byebye...

T_T

I just finished my historiography paper. But I’m not happy coz essentially, it’s a piece of crap. I started at 3 and I finished at 6. The quality is shit! T_T I still got to work on a presentation for Dr D’s module. Fucking irritating………

And I’m sick…down with flu. Worst thing about it is that I can’t taste my food now. When I eat chocolate, all I can taste is how sweet it is. Now all you chocolate lovers out there know that chocolates are more than just sweet ya? If I want sweet, I’d have gone to eat sugar instead. =_=

And I have no money left.

My life is sad.

Bogged down

Been thinking a lot about my future prospects recently too. Comparing the pros and cons of being in the civil service, ie. MOE, to working in the private sector. I fear I’ve been a product of the system for too long. I feel unsettled if my future’s not accounted for. Being in MOE would be the most stable path to take. A lot of my history classmates will also be at NIE! That’s a good thing I guess. It’ll be almost like school. And I’ll most probably take the offer if they offer it to me.
Note: I haven’t actually gotten the offer yet. I’m just assuming that I get it. If I get it, I’ll be spared the anxieties and apprehension of searching for a job in the private sector.

But the private sector has its own advantages too. The nature of the work, the opportunities, the experiences, the pay… and unless I plan to stay a teacher for life, I guess I can’t escape the anxieties and apprehension that most everyone have to go through. Will i be able to give up the relatively high pay at MOE to start all over again in the private sect0r? I honestly don't know. Oh well, if MOE rejected me, I guess I’ll take a chance and try out the JET program in December. If they accepted me, I’ll have to try out for it 4 years down the road. =P

I feel like taking a trip. Getting away from the never-ending drudgery of schoolwork. But alas, it’s all wistful thinking. Can’t afford the time nor have the money to do anything bout the trip. J suggested that we go Taiwan. Think that’s a rather nice place to visit, since I haven’t been there before. Oh well, maybe in the May/June holidays I guess.... =)

Psychopathic

Recently I’ve been having recurring dreams. I don’t usually blog about dreams but this has been rather disturbing and putting it down into words may help I guess.

I’m always walking down this alley. And there’s someone behind me, trying to attack me from behind. I’ll turn around and snap that person’s neck. God knows where I get the reflex and the strength but the snap and the crack of the bone is always so satisfying. I don’t even remember the person’s face or the gender but I remember the satisfaction of breaking a bone/snapping a neck. It’s like a thrill down my spine.

I fear I’ve got a psychopath in me. =_=
Woah...the recent heat wave is killing me... I never hated the weather in Singapore so much. And they say it's only going to get hotter in the next few weeks! Oh god.... how am I going to survive the heat!!

Just when I was moaning and groaning over how hot it was (still is) in Singapore, my idiot friend in Canada sent me pics of snow mountains he took while snowboarding! The foot in the corner is his. =_= *jealous*

I wanna go snowboarding too! I wanna visit the mountains... T_T

Yay! My new desktop has arrived!!! It’s a Compaq Presario! Super cool! Haha… maybe it’s because I haven’t got a desktop in a long while… hmmm… but it’s still cool! Oooooh…. I’m so excited! Hahaha…. I sound so juvenile. =P hehe…like J said, I’m going to spend the rest of my Saturday huggling my new system!

*huggle huggle huggle*

PS: Congrats to kitty-chan for coming in 3rd in today's Xsquare racing competition! Sorry for "flying your kite" today! But computer is more important lah! =P

PPS: kitty-chan, you can't deny it! You’re a GAMBLING ADDICT!! Forever going on and on bout mahjong. =P

Day of Reckoning

23rd February 2005

Today is the day my trusty laptop finally conked off. T_T

Through my (coming to) four years in the university, it has been with me, through good times and bad. I think to a certain extent, the reason I procrastinated bringing it to the com center was because I sort of have this gut feeling that my baby would not make it this time. T_T

Thanks nat and witchy for whiling away the time with me at the com center, providing me with endless entertainment and gossip!

Adios my beloved! Know that I shall miss you dearly… T_T

On a good note, my mummy has agreed to buy me a desktop! Yipee!!

Dependency….

I realized that I’m severely dependent on my trusty hand-phone! My baby HP was left at home yesterday night when dot biked me to J’s place for a sleepover aka leaching session. =P I was devastated! Restless and uneasy the whole freaking night. Though I had a good time leaching off J’s massive anime and mp3 collections... wahahahaha... but still, there’s still the nagging feeling of unease. So much so that I woke up at 9 freaking a.m. when I slept at 5plus to take a cab home to my baby HP. =_=

I sure hope I don’t fall asleep during the job later on. =_=

Character traits

Actually, J and me has talked bout it quite some time ago. But the topic came up again during dinner on Monday. Why do we dislike some people and not others? Ok.... some of them is coz of the face. The moment I see you, I just can’t stand you. Not your fault but mine, but I really don’t care very much. Others are due to certain character traits that they exhibits... sometimes, I feel that the reason I don’t like these character traits very much is because deep down inside, I fear I either exhibit or have the potential for these very same characteristics. J also joked (or maybe J’s not jokin... T_T) that I disliked Katase Shima (from an anime series) for being such a whiny crybaby was because I am one myself…. but I’m not right?! *whines* =P Haha... oh well... I guess it’s true in some cases but rubbish in others.

On a happier note, I was happily rampaging through me mum’s stuff today and found many nice bags that she kept hidden away!! There are some LV and Chanel bags but some of em looked rather auntish. Maybe I’ll use em when I’m working I guess. But there are a few small bags that look very cute! Silly mummy found it troublesome to take all of them out when I could have used some of them! =_=

I also found many nice pens and various other knick-knacks! Hehe...i managed to persuade mummy to give me a mont blanc pen. I’m such a materialistic bitch... but I really like that pen! =P

Edit: haha...i forgot bout the agreement i had with the rest of the class...here's to make up for it
alloz mr ang cher kiat!! the resident san ba of the history honours class! may u forever reign as our resident san ba! =P

Wise decision

I’m at the library now….being one of the chao muggers I’m always laughing at…while lamenting the fact that I missed today’s training….

NOT!

I was sitting at my table for a very long while this morning, trying to decide between going to school to mug or going for training... I even sms Shasha... telling her that I can’t make it for today’s training. In the end, I just lugged my bougu out and took a cab to SKC. Wahahahaha!! I’m so glad I choose to go for training instead of going to school to mug!

Today’s training was good! I haven’t felt so good in a long long time! Though at the end of the first 15 minutes I wanted to die liao. =P Though it can be considered a productive training, I realize that my stamina is lagging now. T_T oh well, it feels good! That’s all I can say bout it. I’ve been feeling so repressed and pent up recently over schoolwork... I’ve not felt so relaxed in a long while.

It’s partly due to nat that I made this wise decision... she said she’d tell me the gist of what Carr is talking about. I’ll hold you to that ya. Hehe... thanx dear!

Those Pekoponjins... =_=

It’s nice to have a friend you can complain to when you feel the need to vent. I don’t care if I was petty or childish or plain unreasonable. When I’m pissed, and complain to you, you are supposed to take my side. And I’ll do the same for you! I’m glad that I have a friend who understands that. Thanks J!

Those darn Pekoponjins... they know nothing!

Hehe... I like the word "Pekoponjin". Has a nice feel of alien superiority to it.
Kerokerokero...

Ps: Got my much belated birthday pressie today! Yay! I love it! Thanx gals for the present as well as the company... love ya all!

Ba Gua!

The ba gua I bought today was yummy! But I think I’ve eaten too much coz I feel a sore throat coming on. It’s either the ba gua or J, the germ factory... Today, we queued for about 4 hours in Chinatown for ba gua!! From 5plus in the evening to 9pm at night! We literally saw the sun go down from our little corner in Chinatown. =_=

Felt like giving up a couple of times. But I’m glad we persevered! Coz if not, we’ll have no ba gua to eat today! T_T think of how sad that would be! As we clutched our precious ba gua in our arms, everything is worth it! Wahahaha... what on earth am I doing!!!?? Queuing for ba gua when I should be reading my histo and dederian stuff!! But in spite of the heat, the aching feet and super ultra duper long queue, the 4 hours were enjoyable because of the company. J –you are the best lah. =) thanx for the MP3s as well ya!

My Friday....=)

Heh. I skipped class today because I overslept. =P Sorry Dr. Lockhart! I really like your lesson but I just couldn’t wake up in time. Hehe...

Went out with shasha to go threading today. Woah. Today’s threading was extra painful. I also don’t know why. T_T I swear my face was still smarting hours after we left little India. Then shasha accompanied me to cut my hair. Heh. Now I got a fringe, well, sort of a fringe but my face looks even rounder than before. T_T well, but I must say that I got no say in how I cut my hair. The hairdresser was super autocratic! Hahaha... I couldn’t get a word in! Oh well, it was not super disastrous I guess.

Then I met up with the movie gang at plaza sing. =) It was nice meeting up with them after so long. I got a belated birthday celebration from them. A flower, a cake and kino vouchers! Hahaha... I got so many kino vouchers this birthday. But the more the merrier I guess! Keep those vouchers coming!! Hehe...
But seriously, thanks guys. I love ya all. =)

Edit: heh. I can't forget to mention Candice! hehehe....you are officially forgiven for forgetting my birthday coz of the "beeg" present! hehehe....love ya too!~ *hugz*

“Mini-me” gone in a day…

Haha... me bro bought a toy beagle for Toby to play with yesterday. It really really looked like our silly little Tobacco. Told J bout it and J predicted that “mini-me” will be mangled in a day. Guess J’s right after all. I came home today and “mini-me” was missing his nose and the cotton filling was all falling out.

This is a tribute to the tragic “mini-me”, gone in less than 24 hours. Well, it was cute while it lasted. =_=

Here’s a picture of Toby with his “mini-me”

Heh. Celebrated my birthday with my group of pals on Tuesday. They were so sweet! I got a very nice cake with a very funny message...

Thanks guys! I would write more... but I’m afraid the memory’s rather hazy now. But I had lots of fun! Love ya all! =)

=)

I’m 23 today!! But I don’t really feel any different, coz I’m young at heart! First off, thanx ya all! For all the smses, e-mails, calls and well wishes! Especially those who made the added effort to sms/call at midnight!

Heh. J, you’re the first to sms! You’re the best! Love ya! =P I especially treasure those msgs from friends I’ve not heard from in a long long while. The fact that they remembered made me extremely happy! Yong, we have to keep in contact more often! Dawn, we got to meet up soon lah. I want my present!! Even though one of these idiots called me a “snow gal” (negative connotations added –being the shape of the snowman) -_- I still appreciate the thought. Charles, you’re an idiot! But you’re still a nice idiot! =P

How can I forget my 4207 buddies? I got a birthday song sung for me on nat’s blog, in CHINESE! Though the pronunciation’s not quite right but I appreciate the thought! Hahaha... so sweet of her! The wacky and weird smses that I got from hen and ra made me laugh. Heh. We’re going out on Tuesday to celebrate me birthday! Yippee! And guys, please ah... I don’t want roti sardine. =_=

Today was rather hectic and in the end, in spite of my best intentions, I skipped kendo. Sorry me kendo pals, but I really don’t feel up to KKRK. =P went out with J after project discussion for dinner instead. And got lots of presents!! Hehehe... all the presents showed thought and effort and I’m especially touched at the amount of consideration that went into the presents! Love em all! Especially the CD! Wahahaha.... Eminem rocks! Also went and bought meself a Johnny Depp autobiography with the kinokuniya vouchers me younger bro gave me! So happy!! Ah... he’s so beautiful! Johnny Depp I mean. =P

All in all, a satisfying day. =)

Nauseating

I just visited one of the forums I frequent and one guy there posted this link. I know I haven’t posted anything bout the tsunami disaster as of yet. But I’ve been pretty touched by the amount of compassion and empathy that has been shown since the disaster.

This is really one of the worst stories about the disaster I’ve ever heard. It’s just so disgusting. =_= It’s neither about massive destruction nor the colossal loss of human lives. It’s about compassion and aid withheld because of the narrow-mindedness of certain individuals. Thoroughly disgusting.

Villagers furious with Christian Missionaries

Samanthapettai, Jan 16 (ANI): Rage and fury has gripped this tsunami-hit tiny Hindu village in India's southern Tamil Nadu after a group of Christian missionaries allegedly refused them aid for not agreeing to follow their religion.

Samanthapettai, near the temple town of Madurai, faced near devastation on the December 26 when massive tidal waves wiped it clean of homes and lives.

Most of the 200 people here are homeless or displaced , battling to rebuild lives and locating lost family members besides facing risks of epidemic, disease and trauma.

Jubilant at seeing the relief trucks loaded with food, clothes and the much-needed medicines the villagers, many of who have not had a square meal in days, were shocked when the nuns asked them to convert before distributing biscuits and water.

Heated arguments broke out as the locals forcibly tried to stop the relief trucks from leaving. The missionaries, who rushed into their cars on seeing television reporters and the cameras refusing to comment on the incident and managed to leave the village.

Disappointed and shocked into disbelief the hapless villagers still await aid.

"Many NGOs (volunteer groups) are extending help to us but there in our village the NGO, which was till now helping us is now asking us to follow the Christian religion. We are staunch followers of Hindu religion and refused their request. And after that these people with their aid materials are leaving the village without distributing that to us," Rajni Kumar, a villager said.

The incident is an exception to concerted charity in a catastrophe that has left no one untouched.(ANI)

Accomplished

I just finished my historiography readings for this week! Ho ho ho... at 11.45 am on a Monday morning! But, the class’s this afternoon at 2pm so I got to rush to get ready for school now. Though I have absolutely no idea what are they talking about, nor do I get the whole point of the readings, it’s still an accomplishment! Coz I’ve not done complete readings for any module in a long long while. And this time, I’ve actually finished them before the lesson starts! =P

*feels proud of meself*

Ra’s birthday!

Went for dinner with ra, nat, hen, and yk. It was one of the bright spots in my hellish week. You guys are really one of a kind!

Though I came back from the celebration kinda broke. But we took lots of pictures and had fun. =) The cake was sooooo delicious! Yum yum... Baker’s Inn’s definitely one of my favourite places for dessert. Strawberry shortcake... *drools*

Heh. Will put up pics as soon as ra and nat sends some over. =P

Stupid

Man... for the first time in my life, I suffer the indignity of feeling like the lowest of the low. In my past school career, I’ve never once felt like this before. Honestly... the feeling is like that of an EM3 student stuck in an EM1 class. So horrid! I even entertained thoughts of dropping out of this semester and graduating early. But nay... I guess I was not serious about that.

=_=

I think I’m going through a period of identity crisis. Damn.... And here I thought I left all the angsty teenage problems behind when I left my teenage years. As it turns out, my cuz was right bout the fact that you can’t skip any part of the growing up period. They’ll catch up with you sooner or later. Recently, I seemed to be feeling all the angst that I thought I’d skipped in my teenage days.

Eventful

Spent New Year’s Eve with some of my kendo peeps at...... the Night Safari! Yesh. Of all places, we spent the New Year with the animals. It was mainly for the sake of our very own dear Kimchi and of course our new friend Z from Canada. But it was mainly coz I wanted to do all the tourisy stuff and they were the perfect excuse. Haha... jokin’. =P There was a discount of 30% for Singaporeans. But our dear friend Z and kimchi by default managed to get the discounts as well. Haha... according to Z, it’s mainly due to his “charming” personality. I.e. chatting up the auntie at the counter. Hehe...
It was pretty fun though. The only regret was at the lions’ den when we didn’t get to see someone pet the lions. =P

After spending bout 40 mins outside the Night Safari trying to decide where to go for makan, we finally decided to go to jalan kayu for prata. Da jie came along to join us bout an hour or 2 later, mainly to provide entertainment/ chauffeur services. But we’re grateful all the same. =P

Z is leaving for Canada in a few hours time. Though we only know him for a few weeks, but it has been a fun few weeks! I know I speak for the majority of the NUSKK (I hope. =P), Z we’ll miss you! Bon voyage and take care! =)

I don’t wanna go for training later! *rolls around in agony* I’ve been thinking up excuses... but like J said... once I closed off the escape route, the idea of training won’t seem terminally bad... just very bad... T_T

I can do this. =_=

A FUCKING WASTE OF MY TIME… PART II

Oh well...one would have thought that I’d have learnt from past mistakes. It’s not a good idea to get one whole series of books at one time simply coz of a whim. It’s stupid... no... make that FUCKING stupid! As with the Christopher Golden series, I repeated the same mistake with another series. This time round, it’s a little beyond weird. The back cover talked about politics, intrigues and fairly interesting characters. In truth, it’s about a whore who likes pain. My god! It’s porn masquerading as fantasy all over again. =_= This time round, it’s weird porn masquerading as fantasy. =_=

Ahhhhhhhhhhh........the amount of money I spent on this series is obscene! But I’ve learnt from my earlier mistake. I shall simply not attempt to torture myself with the second and third book. I shall not compound my wastage of money with wastage of time and emotional torture. =_=

ps: did I mention that the books' are in first person narration? oh god... I hate, hate, hate, HATE books using first person narration. argh...horrid to say the least. oh! robin hobb books excluded of course.

I think I’m obsessed with Johnny Depp…

I used to joke around with my friends that I like old men. I really think it’s not a joke anymore man. Haha... I find myself totally obsessed with Johnny Depp recently. Heh. I liked Johnny Depp for AGES! But recently, it has morphed into obsession! =_=

I just saw the trailer of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory… heh. Johnny Depp looks soooooo nerdy! But he’s adorable all the same! =P

Lean Mean Fighting Machine.... NOT!

Haha... Here I thought the kendo camp will put me right back into shape. Well... guess not. My muscles are still aching from the brutal three days. Especially Thursday’s combined training. T_T
I'm still as soft and useless as ever. blah.

Practice what you preach

I came across this letter in the New York Times regarding the dichotomy between “pro-life” and “pro-choice”. Actually, it’s more of a grouse about the hypocrisy of the actions of the government under the banner of “pro-life”. Admittedly, this debate seems more at home in America then here. Where we don’t have much choice to begin with anyway. But I can’t help but reflect upon my own views, which had undergone a massive change throughout the years. Perhaps, I do have to factor in my bias against the current administration in America. But biases aside, I do find that my views are leaning towards “pro-choice” these days. “Pro-lifers” always gave me this bad vibe, like the “holier than thou” attitude some people have. Perhaps I’m being unfair in my assessment but that’s the impression that they projected. Besides, what’s the use of having a baby if you cannot love it? The kid will be the one to suffer in the future. I guess adoption would be a solution. But how many kids can be adopted? What about those kids with disabilities? If their parents can’t love them, can anyone expect society to? If every kid can be adopted, there wouldn’t be so many orphans and deserted kids in the streets ya?

I guess my main grouse would be that people do not practice what they preach. If you’re a “pro-lifer”, then by all means take some of these kids in when they don’t have a home, or take care of some of the disabled kids or something. =_= Instead of wasting time picketing and protesting, being a nuisance to others. I think I know myself pretty well. I’m judgmental and tend to be too self-righteous sometimes. Haha... so I might not be the right person to say this, but I really do feel that one should think about what you’d do in the same situation before criticizing and judging. It’s so easy to moralize and preach when you are not faced with the same problems.

A day of contradictions

Today started off shitty and progressively turned out ok... well, it’s a mixture of good and bad I guess.

1)Waking up sick and tired –bad
2)Committed hair suicide –very bad
3)Movie was cancelled coz timing was mixed up –bad
4)Had ice-cream with waffles –good
5)Was greedy, ordered a large waffle and can’t finish it in the end. –bad
6)Shopping with the girls –good
7)Bought a new pair of jeans to console myself bout the haircut –very good
8)Hendri laughing at my hair –bad or should I say... evil!
9)Dinner with hen, ra, nat and kitty, the silly old bunch of good friends –good
10)Kitty admitting that he wants to be a monster with tentacles (in the context of hentai anime) –well...can’t say it’s good... but it sure as well is funny lah!
11)Mummy agreeing to sponsor cost of jeans. –very very good!
12)Still sick –very very bad
